Huml's Studio |
Tony Huml, creator of Local Vision
TV.com, originated from a rich and diverse background, leading him
to his eventual entrepreneurship. Huml earned a
degree in secondary education, and he taught in the School District of
Janesville for 10 years; in the process, he instrumentally helped with starting the Rock River Charter School.
During that time, Huml worked for a local media
company for five years, honing his marketing skills. For over ten years, Huml moonlighted
in video production with his side business called Remember When. About
three years ago, Huml realized a niche to be filled in our
community with a lack of local coverage from a TV news station. Noticing the spike in the use of online
video and social media, Huml pursued his vision for a local online television network.
Local Vision TV.com launched on October
1, 2010, and, on October 21, 2010, it won the first annual Rock
County 5.0 Accelerate Your Business Plan Contest. In just a little over two years, LVTV grew from three employees to nine employees.
They launched with just 50 videos on the site; today, the site contains over 5000. With over 3,000 fans on Facebook,
the popularity of Local Vision TV.com continues to multiply with every passing
day. With a recent celebration of the
100th news episode, Huml gazes toward the future with bright hopes for the
continuing success of his online TV news station.
